India is emerging as one of the engines of global economy and a major investment destination. India’s Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Scheme offers the best competitive package. Challenge today is how to combat the global slowdown without slowing down our economy and here the SEZ offers the best platform for generating economic activity and employment to sustain high economic growth.

2.  The  Export Promotion Council for EOUs & SEZs (EPCES) is established by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India in 2003. EPCES has been set up to service the export promotional needs of 100% Export Oriented Units (EOUs) and Special Economic Zone Units and Special Economic Zone Developers in India.

3.   EPCES represents EOU/SEZ Sector which has approx. 7000 operational EOUs/SEZ Units and 416 formally approved Special Economic Zones (SEZs) spread all over the country.
