Honouring the Teachers from India in Brazil

On the occasion of Teachers' Day, the Embassy of India in Brasilia felicitated prominent “Teachers from India in Brazil” in recognition of their contribution to the field of teaching and education.

Charge' d’Affaires a.i. Mr. S. Koventhan & Second Secretary Mr. R. Venugopal received a few prominent Indian Professors, living in Brasilia, in the Embassy. Commendation Plaques were presented to them for their invaluable contribution to making a difference in the lives of young people in Brazil over the years. The Professors thanked the Embassy of India for this recognition and honour. A brief introduction of the Professors who were felicitated by the Embassy are given below:

1. Prof. Reva Garg came to Brazil in 1975 and retired as a Professor of Physics from the University of Brasilia in 2001 and is presently working as ‘Women in Physics’.

2. Prof. Vijayendra Garg taught at the University of Brasilia from 1994-2001. With over 48 years of teaching experience, he is presently Senior Research Associate (Hony), Institute of Physics, University of Brasilia.

3. Prof. M. Haridasan joined the University of Brasilia as a visiting Professor in 1980 and retired as Professor Titular in the Department of Ecology of the Institute of Biological Sciences at the University of Brasilia. He was awarded Professor Emeritus in 2015.

4. Prof. Pushpa N. Rathie came to Brazil in 1975 and has worked as Professor in several Universities in Brazil including the University of Brasilia. Presently he is a Senior Research Collaborator with the University.

All of them have presented numerous research papers in their areas of work.
