Attestation in the Embassy

Applicants may apply for attestation/authentication of Original Documents issued by authorities in India such as Certificate of Birth/Death/Marriage etc., Affidavits, Educational Documents/Diplomas, Driving License etc. for submission with local authorities.

However, please note that in order to obtain Embassy’s attestation / authentication on any such original document, it is mandatory that the document must be attested by the Attestation Cell, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India New Delhi.

Such a document issued by any district or state authority in India, which is not bearing attestation of the Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India, can not be directly attested or authenticated by the Embassy.

An original document that is apostilled by Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi doesn’t require attestation by the Embassy.

Applicants may also apply for attestation of the photocopy of such documents at the Embassy.

This type of attestation/authentication service may be applied by Post.

Documents required for attestation/authentication service:-

  • Copy of Misc. Consular Service Application Form
  • Copy of the Indian passport/OCI card (first and last page) of the applicant
  • Two copies of the document required to be attested / authenticated (one copy for Embassy and one copy for the applicant)
  • Original of the document should be presented for verification at the time of application, which shall be returned after attestation/authentication.
