Visa Services

Visa applications of all types (Tourist, Business, Transit, Employment, Student etc.) are accepted Monday through Friday between 0900hrs to 1200hrs.  Applicants may normally collect their visas after 2 working days between 1600 – 1700 hrs.

Urgent visas (for delivery within 24 hrs - for Zimbabwean Nationals only) will cost an additional fee of US$20.00

Online VISA APPLICATION:     (if a page of security certificate pop-up – opt the Continue option)

1.    Applicant has to do the Online Registration https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/  for applying for Visa (Mandatory). After all the details are filled in the Online Registration for Visa, applicant also needs to upload their Scanned Photograph.

2.    The applicants photograph should be scanned in .jpeg format with size < (less than) 1Mb and saved before online registration.

3.    After successfully completing the data and photo upload, a PDF file gets generated#. Applicant has to take the printout of the system generated pdf File, sign it, glue paste the photograph, attach required documents and submit at the Embassy along with applicable fees.

4.    Applicant need to be present in person for Photo capturing and Biometric enrolment *.
* Diplomatic passport holders; Children below 12 year and Adults over 70 years are exempted from Biometric enrolment

Before applying for visa, please ensure that your passport is valid for at least six months from the date of your application.

There should be a minimum of three vacant pages available in your passport for endorsements. Instructions given on the visa application form must be adhered to.

Travelers visiting India, must possess a valid "Yellow Fever Vaccination" card if they are transiting or have transited through a Yellow Fever Zone.

Any person seeking visa to India for purpose of entering into a surrogacy arrangement must ascertain beforehand whether the law of that country permits surrogacy and will provide appropriate travel documents to the child for accompanying the surrogate parents.  Entering into surrogacy arrangement under any other visa not sought for surrogacy is punishable under the India law.

Visa-fee

Documents required for submission of Visa Applications for Zimbabwean nationals (excluding applicants of Pakistani/Chinese/Sri Lankan/Bangladeshi/Afghan nationality/origin)

Tourist Visa

Persons of Indian Origin who are not holding PIO or OCI card need to apply for Entry visa and not Tourist visa.

1.    Original passport valid for at least six months and having three blank visa pages.

2.    Online registered/duly filled in Visa application form signed by the applicant.

3.    An invitation letter from Indian host along with his residence proof and ID proof  OR Hotel booking details for the period for which Tourist visa is being applied for

4.    Air itinerary/booking

5.    Proof of enough fund for conducting the visit (latest Bank statement showing enough funds for air tickets, hotel and living expenses in India and/or an affidavit from sponsor)

6.    One photographs conforming to specifications and photo to be uploaded during registration

7.    Applicant should be aware of the maximum period of stay of six months in India permitted under a tourist visa and that the Visa is not extendable and non-convertible in India.

8.    Visa fee in Cash/USD

9.    A gap of Two months should be maintained between two successive visits to India on Tourist visa.
Note children accompanying parents: In case the child’s name is endorsed on the passport of the applicant and in the event of child travelling with the applicant, a recent passport size photograph of the child must be attached to the application. No visa fee is required to be paid for the child’s visa endorsement.  A separate passport for child is preferred and accepted for visa.

Medical Visa

i.    Online registered/duly filled in Visa application form signed by the applicant.

ii.    One photographs conforming to specifications and photo may be uploaded during registration.

iii.    Return air tickets and copy of applicants Passport along with the original Passport.

iv.    Letter from the local hospital/doctor and/or Certificate from doctor/hospital after examination of the patient’s condition, requirements and availability of the treatment in India.  Complete copies of treatment record from the local hospital.

v.    Letter from the Indian hospital showing the name of patient & attendant and estimate medical treatment cost,  which must also be mailed by the hospital authorities to Embassy’s mail box cons[at]embindia[dot]org[dot]zw.

vi.    If the patient is on Medical aid and letter from Medical Aid Society confirming patient’s admissibility for medical treatment in India and Guarantee from the Medical Aid society for the treatment expenses and proof of fund transfer to India.

vii.    Latest Bank statement.  The Account’s statement should be certified by the bank and must indicate applicant’s full name & address showing enough fund to conduct the trip

viii.    In case of someone else bank-statement, please enclose the affidavit of the person sponsoring the expenses along with the copy of the photo identity card / passport bearing the ink-signed signature of the sponsor.

ix.    Proof of relationship of attendant accompanying the patient and/or a letter indicating relationship

x.    A separate letter giving full details of previous visits to India, including periods of stay

xi.    If a third party is sponsoring the patient and attendant, then please enclose the affidavit of the person sponsoring the expenses along with the copy of the photo identity card / passport bearing the ink-signed signature of the sponsor and his bank attested bank-statement.  The affidavit should clearly mention the relation and/or reason for sponsoring the patient and attendant and the Sponsor should take all responsibility for the conduct & return from India of the sponsored persons.

xii.    Third party sponsoring is not allowed for terminal illness treatment.

xiii.    Visa fee in Cash/USD

Business Visa

1.    Original passport valid for the period applied for (six months or one year) and having three blank visa pages.

2.    Online registered/duly filled in Visa application form signed by the applicant.

3.    One photographs conforming to specifications and photo to be uploaded during registration.

4.    A letter from the applicant’s employer in Zimbabwe (clearly giving name of the company and its representative with full contact details) containing details of the person to be visited in India, contact details of the Indian company to be dealt with.

5.    Invitation letter from Indian company with applicants name and passport details endorsed in it

6.    Sponsorship letter intimating that the travel expenses would be borne by the company or individual as the case may be.

7.    Visa fee for Business visa is US$123.00 up to 6 months (for Zimbabweans) in Cash/USD

Entry Visa

1.    Original passport valid for the period applied for (six months or one year) and having three blank visa pages.

2.    Online registered/duly filled in Visa application form signed by the applicant.

3.    One photographs conforming to specifications and photo to be uploaded during registration.

4.    Submission of either of the following documents as detailed below :-

(i)    Copy of Indian passport or birth certificate or livret de famille to prove ‘Indian origin’ in respect of foreigners of Indian origin or foreigners married to Indians/Persons of Indian origin (PIOs).

(ii)    Copy of employment visa and livret de famille to prove relationship in respect of dependents of foreigners granted Employment Visa or 5-years Business Visa.

(iii)    Original letter from Secretary, Auroville and other similar institutions such as Ramachandra Ashram etc. for yoga and vedic studies.

(iv)    Letter from MHA or Indian Mountaineering Foundation in respect of applicants going for mountaineering.

(v)    Letter from company/institution offering training/internship specifying emoluments etc. in respect of applicants going as trainees/interns in India.

(vi)    For POIs an invitation letter from the Indian host along with a copy of their identity & resident proof.

(vii)    Visa fee is US$83.00 up to 6 months (for Zimbabweans) in Cash/USD

Transit Visa

1.    Original passport valid for at least six months and having three blank visa pages.

2.    Online registered/duly filled in Visa application form signed by the applicant.

3.    One photographs conforming to specifications and photo to be uploaded during registration.

4.    Copy of air ticket showing the details of applicant’s transit through India.

5.    Evidence regarding travel/visa to enter the country of final destination.

6.    Applicant should be made aware of the maximum period of stay of 72 hours in India with maximum of two entries permitted by a transit visa.

Employment Visa

1.    Original passport valid for the period applied for (six months or more) and having three blank visa pages.

2.    Online registered/duly filled in Visa application form signed by the applicant.

3.    One photographs conforming to specifications and photo to be uploaded during registration.

4.    Employment Visa Proforma.

5.    Original Employment Contract specifying terms and conditions of employment.

6.    Certificate of incorporation of the Employer/Company.

7.    Undertaking regarding recovery of Income tax in India.

8.    E-Visa Company/salary/Tax summary proforma

9.    Valid resident permit for non-Zimbabwean nationals living in Zimbabwe.

10.    Proof of payment of income tax (Certified copy of income tax return, Form no. 16 etc.) in case of renewal of Employment Visa.

Note:     It may please be noted well that Renewal of all Employment-Visas is done only in India through the Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi (for the first renewal) and the State Governments/FRROs concerned for subsequent renewals.

Journalist Visa

1.    Original passport valid for at least six months and having three blank visa pages.

2.    Online registered/duly filled in Visa application form signed by the applicant.

3.    One photographs conforming to specifications and photo to be uploaded during registration.

4.    Work attestation letter from the employer (original) and a photocopy.

5.    Authorization letter from XP Division, MEA or PIC Wing, Embassy of India, Harare in case applicant intends to go for making a film in India.

6.    Applicant may be made aware that only a single entry visa is issued to all applicants belonging to this category with a maximum validity of 3 months.

7.    Journalists who desire to work in Indian media organizations must apply for Employment Visas along with a specific undertaking from the employer.

Student Visa

1.    Original passport valid for the period applied for/duration of the course and having three blank visa pages.

2.    Online registered/duly filled in Visa application form signed by the applicant.

3.    One photographs conforming to specifications and photo to be uploaded during registration.

4.    Original letter from a recognized Indian university/School/Institution confirming admission to a particular full-time course of study including detailed curriculum, course duration etc.

5.    Copy of exchange agreement between the Indian institution and the Zimbabwean University in case of an exchange student going to an Indian University/Institution.

6.    Financial guarantee from a bank showing adequate balance or bank letter certifying income of parents to cover estimated expenses Euros 500 per month towards tuition fees, living and boarding expenses in India during the entire period of the proposed study.

7.    An affidavit from Parents or sponsors to the effect that they would be responsible for the students expenses and behavior during their stay
 
Conference Visa

1.    Original passport valid for the period applied for and having three blank visa pages.

2.    Online registered/duly filled in Visa application form signed by the applicant.

3.    One photographs conforming to specifications and photo to be uploaded during registration.

4.    Original letter of invitation for a Conference/Seminar as a delegate to attend an international conference/seminar held by government bodies, public sector undertakings in India.

5.    An authorization letter from current employer permitting the visit to India
