Curriculum Vitae

Consul General Naresh Kumar is a career diplomat in the Indian Foreign Service. He joined the Ministry of External Affairs in 1991 and has served in various capacities both at Headquarters and in Missions/Posts abroad.

At Headquarters, he has worked in Administration, Protocol, Territorial and Finance Divisions. While abroad he has served in HCMC, Bangkok, Brasilia, PMI New York, Panama and Madrid.

Among his responsibilities while working in the PMI New York, he was an Indian delegate to the 4th/Special Committee on Decolonization (C-24) and covered various other meetings at the UN. In Panama he served as the Commercial Representative of India, and in Madrid he polished his Spanish as a Language Trainee. Before reaching Kandahar, he was deployed in the Finance Division of the Ministry.

He holds a Master degree in Science from Delhi University and was a Junior Research Fellow at JNU, New Delhi before joining the Ministry.

His interests include long walks through natural surroundings and Football.
