Guidelines for Travellers

Travel to Afghanistan, including Kandahar, is extremely dangerous, especially for Indian citizens. The security situation is extremely unstable and the threat to Indian citizens remains critical. No province in Afghanistan should be considered immune from violence, and the potential threat exists throughout the country for hostile acts, either targeted or random, against Indians and other foreign nationals at any time. Risk of kidnapping and hostage taking exists throughout Afghanistan.

Any Indian citizen who visits an area under the jurisdiction of Consulate General of India, Kandahar (Provinces of Kandahar, Helmand, Zabul, Uruzgan and Nimroz) should register himself/herself with this Consulate at the earliest.
