What is a Police Clearance Certificate?
The Police Clearance Certificate is a document issued by the Embassy of India which proves the personal data, according to the travel document, of the Indian citizen. It is a document that may be required by the Brazilian authorities.

How do I apply for the Police Clearance Certificate?
To apply for the Police Clearance Certificate, the applicant must:
(i) Print and fill out a Miscellaneous Form (available at Form for Miscellaneous Services);
(ii) Send or bring the completed form to the Embassy, with two 3x4cm photos,
(iii) Write a simple letter, stating the reason for which PCC is necessary and for which body it will be presented in Brazil;
(iv) self-attested copies of passport first and last page with particulars
(v) Original passport.

What are the amounts and the forms of payment to obtain the Police Clearance Certificate (PCC)?
The amount for the issuance of the Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) is R$ 100.00 plus the amount of R$ 7.00, paid separately, for the ICWF rate. Remember that if the applicant wishes their documentation to be returned by Sedex, it should add the value of R$ 60.00. The fee for Sedex may be added to the fee for the document issuance rate, but not to the ICWF rate.

Do I need to go to the Embassy to apply for the Police Clearance Certificate (PCC)?
Residents in the states of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Paraná, Santa Catarina or Rio Grande do Sul must submit their PCC application to the Consulate General of India in São Paulo. The consular section of the Embassy of India in Brasilia has jurisdiction over the other states of Brazil. If your jurisdiction is Brasília, then you may come personally or you may send the documentation through Sedex. Remember that if the applicant wishes their documentation to be returned by Sedex, it should add the value of R$ 60,00. The fee for Sedex may be added to the fee for the document issuance rate, but not to the ICWF rate.

I do not live in Brasilia / DF. Do I need to go to the Embassy to apply for Police Clearance Certificate (PCC)?

The applicant who wishes that his/her documentation to be returned by Sedex, should add the value of R $ 60.00. The fee for Sedex may be added to the price of the document issuance rate, but not to the ICWF rate.

"Applicants who submit their documentation by mail must pay the fees with two administrative checks (one exclusively for ICWF fee and another for all other fees). Personal or business checks are not accepted. The bank issues administrative checks once the CNPJ of the Embassy of India (04386483 / 0001-65) is provided.
