1st Special Course for Diplomats from Namibia & Malawi

1st Special Course for Diplomats from Namibia & Malawi is being held at Foreign Service Institute (FSI), Ministry of  External Affairs, Govt. of India, New Delhi from 01 - 13 December 2019. 22 young diplomats are participating in this Course (21 from Namibia & 01 from Malawi).

The Special Course was inaugurated at FSI on 02 December 2019 by Amb. J.S. Mukul, Dean (FSI). Dean (FSI) hosted a welcome dinner for the participating diplomats on 01 December 2019.  

The Special Course will include modules on India’s foreign policy, key international issues, multilateral diplomacy and diplomatic skills. The diplomats will also get an exposure to India’s economic and technological development and undertake study tours to experience the rich cultural heritage of India.

India has traditionally enjoyed warm, friendly and cordial relations with Namibia and Malawi.

 The  strong  bonds  of  friendship  and  warmth  that  existed  between  India and Namibia  when  Founding  President  of  Namibia  Dr.  Sam Nujoma led  his  country  have  continued  to this day. FSI and Namibia’s Ministry of International Relations and cooperation have a Memorandum of Understanding on diplomatic training, which was signed in 2005. Till date, 15 Namibian diplomats have undergone training at FSI.   

India and Malawi hold identical views on many regional, international and multilateral issues. Till date, 11 Malawian diplomats have undergone training at FSI.
