Press Release on Media Outreach Event

Embassy of India had organised an outreach event for the media journalists in the Embassy premises today. About 30 journalists representing a cross section of the Brazilian media, including the prominent media houses like O Globo, CNN-Brazil, Bloomberg, Correio Braziliense attended the event.

2. The outreach event aimed at briefing the media about the recent high level visits and the vision of the leadership of both India and Brazil to further strengthen and deepen our bilateral relations. The event also intended to give a perspective to the journalists about the recent economic developments in India and investment opportunities for Brazilian companies in India.

3. Charge de Affaires a.i. Shri S.Koventhan gave an overview of the India-Brazil Relations. He also touched upon the highlights of the recent visit of H.E. President Bolsonaro to India. A audio-visual production on the visit was also screened for the audience. Consul General of India in Sao Paulo, Shri Amit Kumar Mishra made a presentation on Investment Opportunities in India .He also highlighted about the various social welfare programmes and developmental activites taken up by GOI . Second Secretary (Dr)Arjun Deore gave a presentation on the outlook of the Economy of India and highlighted the salient features of recently released Economic Survey.

4. Information on ITEC courses of MEA, yoga and hindi classes organised by the Embassy, 150th birth anniversary celebrations of Mahatma Gandhi were also disseminated to media journalists .

5. The event was well received by the media journalists and they thanked the Indian Embassy for this opportunity.
