Security Advisory Regarding New Year Day

In view of the Nowroz (Afghan New Year Day), to be held on March 21, 2013, itis apprehended that Anti Government Elements (AGEs) in the guise of wearing uniform of police or some private security agency may strike through Vehicle Borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED) fallowed by armed attack against Indian interests in Afghanistan. Some inputs indicating threat to Indian projects have also been received.

2. Though all concerned security components have been sensitized, it is advisable to be more security conscious in the coming days. Unnecessary movements in the city,including in crowded areas like restaurants, markets and Malls may be avoided. Keeps oneself informed security scenario via local visual/print media as well as through interaction with fellow colleagues, is also recommended.

3. This advisory is being issued to keep the addressees fully aware of the perceived threats for caution and not to create panic or fear.
