Today the second International Yoga Day 2016 was celebrated at Embassy of India, Kabul from 0630 hrs to 0830 hrs. More than 150 Afghans, Indians, foreigners from various fields like Gov. Diplomats, Officials, media, NGO’s, civil societies, Afghan film Actors and sports persons were enthusiastically participated in the celebration. H.E. Abdul Razaq Vahidi, Minister Communication & Information Technology of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan also attended and encouraged the yoga practitioners.

H.E. Manpreet Vohra, Ambassador of India in his message thanked the yoga practitioners and briefed about the benefits of practicing yoga regularly. After that our yoga master Shri Hoti Lal, SS(PPS) conducted a hour session of various yoga exercises. A DVD containing a video on yoga protocol and a yoga T Shirt were distributed for the yoga practitioners by the Mission. Also a photo and books exhibition on various yoga postures and its benefits was organised.

With regard to the media coverage, we had arranged special interview with yoga master by the local TV Channels. Several local & international media covered today’s IYD celebration at the Embassy. The list of the media personnel who covered the event is enclosed herewith. Embassy also actively used the social media for disseminating the benefits of yoga and the celebration of IYD 2016.
