Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Celebration in Tashkent
The Pravasi Bharatiya Divas was celebrated at the premises of the Embassy of India in Tashkent on January 09, 2017. The event had active participation of the Indian community in Tashkent. Excerpts of Inaugural speech of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi at PBD Convention in Bengaluru, video film on Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, songs in Hindi and Russian by the members of the Indian community, exhibition of paintings by the children of the Indian community and a video prepared by the Embassy on Indian community in Uzbekistan were put of the programme. An information booklet was also distributed among the participants in the above event. Following the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas event, the quarterly meeting of Indian diaspora with Ambassador was also held to discuss concerns of the Indian community, brief them on new Government initiatives, and to enhance interaction with the Indian diaspora.
