Visit of Hon'ble Minister of State for External Affairs to Uzbekistan for the Conference on Central Asia - Shared Past and Common Future Cooperation for Sustainable Development and Mutual Prosperity (10-11 November 2017)

An Indian delegation led by Hon’ble Minister of State for External Affairs, General (Retd.) (Dr.) V.K. Singh, visited Uzbekistan to attend the Conference on Central Asia – Shared Past and Common Future Cooperation for Sustainable Development and Mutual Prosperity, held in Samarkand on 10-11 November 2017.   In his remarks at the Conference he spoke of the special relationship India shares with Central Asia given our ancient and civilizational links and the challenges faced by the region.  While in Samarkand, he offered floral tributes at the monument of late President Islam Karimov.

Hon’ble Minister of State met with the Director EC, SCO-RATS, Mr. E.S. Sysoyev, in Tashkent.  He offered floral tributes at the statue of Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri, near the Shastri School, and interacted with teachers of the school.  He also visited the Armed Forces Museum and the Martyrs‘ Memorial.


  

Hon’ble Minister of State visited the Embassy to see a presentation by students of the Lal Bahadur Shastri Centre for Indian Culture and other institutions, and interacted with members of Indian community.
