Scholarships For Study in India (2018-19)

As in the past, the Embassy of India, Ashgabat is pleased to announce the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) Scholarships for the academic session 2018-19. The Government of India is offering 15 Scholarships under General Scholarship Scheme to Turkmen Nationals to study at Graduate, Post Graduate or research level in Universities in India during the academic year 2018-19.

Applicants are requested to log onto “Admissions to Alumni” (A2A), the Scholarship Portal developed byICCR at  External website that opens in a new windowand create individual login ID and password before submitting the applications online. This portal contains all the relevant information for theapplicants including details of all State Universities, Central Universities and Institutes, colleges affiliatedwith them, courses available, availability of hostels, applications guidelines, eligibility criteria and otherrelevant information for helping the applicants in decision-making while applying for the academic coursesof their preference.

Please carefully note the following:

  • Applications should be submitted by 12 February 2018 (Monday) through the online applicationmechanism.
  • Applications should be complete in every detail. Kindly read the guidelines on the portal.
  • Applicants have to submit one printed copy of application with the copies all relevant documents to the Embassy of India, Ashgabat before 12 February, 2018.
  •  Short-listed candidates will have to appear for an English Proficiency Exam to be conducted at theEmbassy of India, Ashgabat.
  • Applicants should clearly mention the course to which they are seeking admission while mentioningchoices.
  • Applicants are advised to go through the courses offered by the Universities carefully before finallysubmitting the application form. List of Universities where ICCR students are currently studying whichis available at ICCR Website External website that opens in a new window
  • ICCR does not award scholarships for MBBS/BDS courses or Casual Research/Diplomas/Short-termcourses.
  • Applicant must produce a medical fitness certificate from a recognized hospital in the prescribedformat available with the online application form.
  • Students applying for M.Phil/Doctoral/Post-Doctoral courses should submit a synopsis along with theapplication.
  • Students wishing to pursue performing arts courses should upload Video/Audio/YouTube link
  • An applicant should have studied Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry at Higher Secondary level tobe eligible for admission to science/engineering courses.
  • Submission of application form does not guarantee admission.
  • Indian universities/educational institutions are autonomous and independent bodies and have theirown eligibility criteria on the basis of which they confirm admissions.
  • Candidates are expected to stay in the University/College hostel and not in private accommodation.
  • Candidate should be 18 years of age by 30 June, 2018.
