CHANGE OF NAME, ADDRESS, ETC. AFTER MARRIAGE / DIVORCE

(Time Required: Two to three weeks in respect of passports issued from Damascus.  In the case of Passports issued by PIA (Mission/Post/Passport Offices in India) other than Embassy of India, Damascus, if the records are available online, the time required is two to three weeks in normal course; and in case, records are not available online, then 40 to 45 working days)

NOTE: FOR ANY CHANGE IN THE MATERIAL INFORMATION ON FIRST AND LAST PAGES OF THE PASSPORT BOOKLET, A NEW PASSPORT IS ISSUED WITH NORMAL VALIDITY. 
     

1)   

Police Clearance Certificate (PCC)

(Time Required  :  DAMASCUS-ISSUED PASSPORTS-  ONE WEEK AND IN OTHER CASES, 30 WORKING DAYS- SUBJECT TO CLEAR RECORDS AVAILABLE IN THE SYSTEM.

 
    Requirements:-

  • Application in the PCC Form (Form 16) PDF file that opens in new window. To know how to open PDF file refer Help section located at bottom of the site.
  • Original Passport (including subsequent additional booklets if any)
  • Photocopy of inside cover pages and other relevant pages of the passport.
  • Two passport size photographs.
  • Letter from Embassy which has asked for Police Clearance Certificate.

 

In case, the present passport was issued by the Passport Issuing Authority other than Embassy of India, Damascus, a reference is made to the original/previous passport issuing authority and may take a few weeks time for the confirmation to be received.  The PCC is issued only after receipt of such confirmation.

 

2)   

Non Resident Indian (NRI) Certificate

(Time Required  :  One Working Day)

Requirements:-

  • Original Passport (including subsequent additional booklets if any)
  • Photocopy of inside cover pages and other relevant pages of the passport.
  • Photocopy of passport page showing first arrival in Syrian Arab Republic.
  • One Passport Size Photograph

 
 3)

Birth Certificate

(Time Required  :  One Working Day)

 Requirements for issue of Birth Certificate on the basis of entries in the Passport:-

  • Application in the Miscellaneous Services Form (Form 12) PDF file that opens in new window. To know how to open PDF file refer Help section located at bottom of the site.
  • Original Passport (including subsequent additional booklets if any)
  • Photocopy of inside cover pages and other relevant pages of the passport.
  • One Passport size photograph

 

[Note: Indian Nationals born in Syrian Arab Republic whose birth was registered with the Embassy, may apply for a duplicate copy of the Birth Certificate on payment of SP 1250.  They should provide details of original registration.

 

4)

 I.D.(Translation of Passport details in Arabic)
(Time required: One Working Day)

Requirements for issue of I.D.:-

  • Original Passport (including subsequent additional booklets if any)
  • Photocopy of inside cover pages and other relevant pages of the passport.
  • One passport size coloured photograph  

    

 

5)  

No Objection Certificate/Letter for Arabic Studies etc.
 (Time required: One Working Day)

  • Original Passport (including subsequent additional booklets if any)
  • Photocopy of inside cover pages and other relevant pages of the passport.
  • Proof of Admission

 

*Note: All fees are to be paid in Syrian Pounds in Cash at the Counter (it can be paid from 0900-1100 hrs on all working days) along with application.  Fee once paid is not refunded, even if the application is withdrawn or the service refused for whatsoever reason.
