Bio-data of Consul General Shri Pieyush Gupta
Shri Pieyush Gupta assumed charge as Consul General of India in Phuentsholing, Bhutan on 23rd March 2015.
Earlier he has held different positions in various countries viz. Cuba, Malaysia, Japan & Namibia. He has also served in different capacities in the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi in Finance, External Publicity, Africa, Americas, BSM (Bangladesh Sri Lanka Myanmar & Maldives), CPV (Consular Passport and Visa Division) and ITP (Investment and Trade Promotion) Divisions.
He has inter alia participated in COP 10 Conference on Biological Diversity in Nagoya, Japan (October2010) and UNCCD COP 11 Conference on Desertification held in Windhoek in September 2013. He has also been deputed to a number of VVIP visits involving the President, the Vice President, and the Prime Minister.
He speaks Hindi, English & Spanish. He is a double Graduate in Science and Education.
He has done Professional Courses from Foreign Service Institute (FSI), New Delhi. He has also done one year Course in Spanish Language from Jose Marti School of Foreign Languages in Havana, Cuba.
His hobbies include Reading / Writing, Yoga/Meditation, Travelling and Trekking.
He is married to Avantika and they have a daughter.
