Bio profile of H.E. Mr. Ram Karan Verma, Ambassador

Mr. Ram Karan Verma assumed charges as Ambassador of India on 18 Nov 2020. He was Director (Central Europe) at Headquarters and since joining the Ministry of External Affairs in 1987, he has handled various interesting and challenging assignments in India and abroad.

In his career, Mr. Verma has served in establishment, CNV and political divisions at Headquarters; and has vast experience of diplomatic work in Indian missions in Myanmar, UK, Libya, Tajikistan, Greece and Afghanistan in various capacities.

Born in March 1963, he studied at Higher Secondary School, Jagsi (Haryana) and completed his B.Sc (Hons) & M.Sc degrees in Agriculture in 1st division from CCSHA University, Hisar. He is an avid reader, music lover and takes keen interest in Table Tennis, Badminton and other indoor games.

He is married to Mrs. Kamlesh K. Verma and they have two daughters & a son.
