India Turkmenistan Centre for Information Technology

During the first Intergovernmental Committee meeting held in Ashgabat between the two countries in October 2006, India announced the plan to establish an IT centre in Ashgabat. The Centre was eventually inaugurated by Mr. Sachin Pilot, Minister of State for Communications & IT at the Magtymguly State University, Ashgabat on October 17, 2011. The first batch of trainers was trained in India under a special ITEC programme organized by Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC), Pune. The Centre continues to function successfully, offering IT training to students and Turkmen citizens.
