4th Familiarization Programme for Resident Diplomats

The 4th Familiarization Programme for Resident Diplomats is being held at the Sushma Swaraj Institute of Foreign Service (SSIFS), Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) from 26-30 July 2021. Three editions of the Familiarization Programme were held in January, February and March 2021 respectively. In this fourth edition, 26 diplomats from resident Missions (Embassies/High Commissions) from Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas are participating in the programme.

The programme was inaugurated on 26 July 2021 by Amb. J.S. Mukul, Dean (SSIFS). The week-long programme would provide a broad overview of India and its foreign policy. The topics that would be covered in the programme would range from India’s relations with the big powers and its neighbours and the Indian Ocean Region and the UN to India’s development partnership, health diplomacy etc. Senior officers from the MEA will be addressing the diplomats on these strategic and contemporary issues. A panel discussion on India’s economic diplomacy / initiatives by Invest India, CII and FICCI is also included in the programme.
