Alok Kumar Sinha
Shri Alok Kumar Sinha was born on 5th January 1960 and has been a member of the Indian Foreign Service since 21 August 1986.
His previous diplomatic assignments include serving as Third Secretary/Second Secretary in Embassy of India, Tokyo (Sept. 1987- Jan.1991); Under Secretary in Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi (Jan.1991 – Oct. 1993); First Secretary in the Embassy of India, Bangkok (Oct.1993 to Jun 1997); First Secretary/Counsellor in the High Commission of India, Lusaka (Jul.1997 to Sept. 2000); Director (Finance) in Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi (Sept. 2000 –Jul. 2003); Counsellor/Minister in the Permanent Mission of India, New York (Jul. 2003- Jun. 2007); Deputy Chief of Mission in Embassy of India, Kathmandu (Jun 2007- Jul. 2010).
From July 2010 till June 5, 2015 he was Joint Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi in charge of Projects and Development Partnership Administration.
He assumed charge as India’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain on 8th June 2015.
He is married to Mrs Mamta Sinha and the couple has one son and one daughter.
He holds a degree in B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering. He is fluent in English, Hindi and Japanese.
