Right to Information

In terms of the directives of the Government of India, the Embassy has implemented the Right to Information Act (RTI), 2005.

The relevant information about the Act and its implementation, such as what does right to information mean, what information is available, how to request for information etc. can assessed through the web at http://righttoinformation.gov.in Some useful information is also available in the website of the Central Information Commission (http://cic.gov.in)  

Indian nationals who wish to seek information under the RTI Act may approach the following designated nodal officers in the Embassy:

Submission of Application Under RTI Act:

Applications for Information under RTI Act, 2005 may be sent along with the prescribed fee in Bahraini Dinars, equivalent to Indian Rs.10/- (Rupees Ten only) addressed to the Public Information Officer, Embassy of India, Bahrain, clearly specifying the information required.

It may be noted that information provided under the Act is available to citizens of India only. Applications should be submitted along with documentary proof of Indian Citizenship (like copy of personal particulars pages of passport.)
