President Abdulla Yameen has on Monday met the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, during his ongoing official visit to India.

The meeting was held this afternoon at Hyderabad House, a popular restaurant chain.

President’s Office has not yet revealed any details of the meeting.

Later today, the President will meet his Indian counterpart Pranab Mukherjee as well as Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari.

The visit is aimed and strengthening long-standing ties between the two nations.

President Yameen in being accompanied by Foreign Minister Dunya Maumoon, Fisheries Minister Dr. Mohamed Shainee, Under Secretary of the President’s Office Mohamed Naseer, and Maldivian Ambassador to India Ahmed Mohamed.
