Indian High Commissioner to the Maldives Akhilesh Mishra has met Home Minister Umar Naseer.
Home Minister said that this was a courtesy call, the first of the nature after Mishra was appointed to his position. Discussions in the meeting centered on the bilateral relations between the two nations.
Home Ministry said that Mishra had praised the beauty of Maldives, kindness of the Maldivians and reflected on the similarities between culture and languages in the two nations.
Minister Umar spoke on the close relations between the two nations and thanked India for the constant assistance and close relations given by India to the Maldives.
Mishra had also met former President Mohamed Waheed Hassan. The former President thanked Mishra for the meeting. |
