Defense Minister Adam Shareef Umar has said on Tuesday night that India has always extended assistance whenever the Maldives had required.
He made the statement delivering the key note address in the special ceremony held in Dharubaaruge to mark India’s 67th Republic Day.
Adam Shareef said that India has always taken initiative when it came to lending assistance, noting India’s assistance following the terror attacks of 3rd November 1988, 2004 Boxing Day Tsunami and the previous year’s water crisis.
He also noted that the relationship between Maldives and India were more than just neighborly ties, but rather that of a deep and enduring friendship. |
