Gifting Of Second Advanced Light Helicopter To Maldives (April 27, 2016)

The second Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) gifted by India arrived in Maldives on April 27, 2016. Minister of Defence and National Security of Maldives H.E Adam Shareef and High Commissioner of India to Maldives H.E Akhilesh Mishra welcomed the ALH and its crew at the Ibrahim Nasir International Airport.

The helicopter is the latest version of ALH, which is manufactured indigenously in India by HAL. The helicopter can carry 10 personnel and is capable of transferring 4 casualties on stretchers. It is deployed in the Iskander Air Base in Kadhdhoo and would be used by Maldives government for EEZ AND Coastal surveillance apart from Search and Rescue and Casualty Evacuation.
