Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is celebrated on January 9 each year to mark the contribution of the overseas Indian community to the development of India. The day commemorates the return of Mahatma Gandhi from South Africa on 9 January, 1915.

In this connection, the Embassy of India in Tashkent will organize an event for the Indian Diaspora on 9 January, 2017 at 1830 hrs in the Embassy building located at 16, Kara Bulak Street, Mirzo Ulugbek District, Tashkent.

The above event is expected to discuss a road map for strengthening the role of the Indian community in the efforts of the Embassy and Indian diaspora’s participation in India’s growth and development. 

To coincide with the above event, the 4th Quarterly Open House meeting for the Indian diaspora with Ambassador would also be held at the Embassy premises on the same day. This forum is an official platform that gives an opportunity to meet and discuss concerns and ideas.
