Training courses under India Africa Forum Summit (IAFS-III)

India hosted the third India Africa Forum Summit from October 26-30, 2015. During the summit India proposed to cooperate in education and training in areas such as: Information Technology, Agriculture, Engineering, Small and Medium Entrepreneurship, Health and Science. India has also pledged to provide 50,000 scholarships to African students in the next five years and set up institutions that help augmenting African capacities across the continent.

Recognizing the importance of human capacity enhancement in the attainment of socio-development objectives, the Government of India organizes a host of training program in different fields. The list of courses available under IAFS-III, eligibility criteria, date of commencement and duration of the courses are in the table below:

3.	Indian Academy of Highway Engineers	Highway Construction and Maintenance	Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering, 5 years of work experience, middle to senior level highway engineer from National Road Authority/Ministry of Transport
		Feasibility study and preparation of detailed project preparation for highways
		Road and Bridge design including computer aided design technique
		Public Private Partnership in Highway Projects
4.	National Institute of Wind Energy [NIWE]	Design Installation & Maintenance of Small Wind Turbine	Knowledge of English language and should possess post graduate degree in science (Physics) or graduate degree in engineering / technology (electrical / electronics or mechanical).
5.	ICRISAT	Business Plan Preparation and Operations Management for SMEs in Food Processing	Minimum under graduation in any stream. Post graduation in food science to / food technology.
		Development of analytical skills for setting up food testing laboratories
		Technology commercialization and business scale up in fruits and vegetable processing industries
6.	National Institute of Solar Energy [NISE]	Renewable Energy Capacity Building Program	Degree/diploma in Science/Engineering disciplines and are involved with projects in wind energy, academic & R&D institutions, power industry, project developers, consultants, manufacturers,

7.	Biotech Consortium India Limited [BCIL]	Training of Laboratory Staff and Scientist	Minimum under graduation in Science courses

8.	Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee	Small Hydropower Policy & Regulations	With engineering scientific/financial background involved in Small Hydro Power Development & Rural Electrification. From government deptt., academic institutions, private developers, manufacturers and NGO. 2 years professional experience

9.	FICCI	Water Audit & Rainwater Harvesting	Knowledge of English language Rainwater Harvesting in and should possess diploma/Graduation/Post Graduation (preferably from Technology Integrated Science background)/B.Tech/M. Environment Management in Tech or have equivalent Age: 25-50 years with minimum 2 years of work experience.
9.	FICCI	Energy Efficiency & Conservation
10.	Apollo Hospitals in India.	4 weeks mid-career specialised medical training in various disciplines by Apollo Hospitals in India.	The participants are required to (i)to be qualified doctors with English language proficiency (ii) have completed post-graduation medical (iii) have three years experience (iv) have license to practice in their respective country

It should be noted that anyone who benefited before of any scholarship offered by the Government of India [ITEC/SCAAP, IAFS & ICCR] is not entitled to apply for this scholarship
