2nd Familiarisation Programme for Resident Heads of Mission (HoMs)

The 2nd Familiarisation Programme for Resident Heads of Mission (HoMs) is being held at the Foreign Service Institute (FSI) of the Ministry of External Affairs of India on 18-22 February 2019. Resident HoMs from East, South and West Africa are participating. There are 31 Missions from East, South and West African countries in Delhi.

The Familiarisation Programme was inaugurated at FSI on 18 February 2019 by Amb. J.S. Mukul, Dean (FSI).

Amb. T.S. Tirumurti, Secretary (ER) of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), other senior officers from MEA and GoI will also address the Resident HoMs during the programme.

The Programme will include modules on India’s foreign policy, trade policy, development partnership and key international issues. The Resident HoMs will also get an exposure to India’s economic and technological advancements.

The 1st Familiarisation Programme for Resident HoMs was successfully conducted at the FSI on 20-24 August 2018. HoMs from Latin and Caribbean countries had participated in the 1st Programme.

India and African countries enjoy friendly relations based on historic and civilisational ties. The Familiarisation Programme will further strengthen India’s ties with Africa.
