VEHICLE BORNE SUICIDE ATTACK AGAINST IM CONVOY IN KABUL
Details
Today at 0815 hours a Vehicle Borne IED (VBIED) targeted an International Military (IM) convoy comprising of two SUVs near Yakatoot area on Kabul-Jalalabad road in Police District 9 of Kabul city. Three Afghan nationals were killed and four others have been injured. Three IM personnel have also suffered injuries and their vehicles have been damaged. Few shops also suffered damages.
2. Today’s incident once again displays the determination of militants to strike at will. Consequently, all Indian nationals are once again advised to exercise due caution and maintain extra vigil. Certain guidelines are reiterated:-
(i) To keep a safe distance from International Military/ANA/ ANP convoys as they continue to be a target of militants.
(ii) Any fixed pattern of movement in the city, including regular visits to restaurants frequented by foreigners; be avoided.
(iii) Awareness of the prevailing security scenario via local visual/print media as well as through interaction with fellow colleagues.
