Student visa is granted to a foreigner whose sole objective is to pursue on academics, full time (structured courses) at recognized educational institutions in India. The list of recognized institutions is given on following links –

Documents required:
- Copy of passport with at least 6 months’ validity from the date of proposed arrival date in India.
- Copy of E-Taskira or paper Taskira attested by National Statistics & Information Authority.
- Polio vaccination certificate
- Copy of admission letter from the concerned recognized institution, specifically mentioning the name and contacts details of authorized signatory (person) of the institution.
- Copy of receipt of fees paid by applicant to the institution or proof of GOI sponsored scholarship.
- Copy of the certificates of qualifying examination attested by MoFA, Afghanistan.
- Bank Statement of self or sponsor’s
- If bank statement of sponsor is submitted then Identify proof of the sponsor like valid and attested Taskira is required.
- Please note that following the visa-interview the Embassy of India could at its discretion request further documentation from the applicant.
Note: Applications simply made on the basis of invite/admission letter from non-recognized institutions will be rejected.
- NOTE: Grant of any type of visa is the sole discretion of the Embassy of India, Kabul.
