Mrs. Madhu Sethi has spent over 30 years handling several important assignments in the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi and in Indian diplomatic Missions in the Gulf, South Asia and Europe.  She has served in Kuwait, Kathmandu, London and Dubai handling education, administration, press, culture, political and multilateral work.

Mrs. Sethi handled Nepal Desk in the Northern Division of the Ministry of External Affairs from 1998-2001.  She was posted to the High Commission of India, London from 2001-2004.  On her return to headquarters in 2004, she served in the Prime Minister’s Office from 2004-2006.  She served as Deputy Director, Indian Council of World Affairs in 2007.  She was posted to the Consulate General of India, Dubai as Consul from 2008-2011, overseeing the work related to press, information and culture in addition to being Head of Chancery.  From 2011-2014, she served as Deputy Secretary, South Asia Association of Regional Cooperation (SAARC) in the Ministry of External Affairs. 

Mrs. Madhu Sethi, during her second stint to the High Commission of India, London from December 2014 to June 2018, headed Education and Political Wings, including International Organizations (The Commonwealth and the International Maritime Organisation).  

Born on June 28, 1961, Madhu Sethi graduated from Delhi University.  She is married to Vimal and they have two sons:  Sahil and Shikhar.
