Celebration of ICCR Foundation Dau
Embassy celebrated the First ICCR Foundation Day on April 9, 2019 with about 200 guests including ICCR alumni, University Heads, Indologist, senior government officials and media in attendance.
H.E. Mr. D. Odbayar, Chief Justice of Constitutional Court of Mongolia and an illustrious alumni of ICCR, was the Chief Guest and vividly recounted the fond memories of his about 5 years stay in India and how the excellent education he received there has shaped his legal career. The third President of Mongolia, H.E. Mr. N. Enkhbayar also graced the occasion as a Guest of Honour and eloquently talked about strategic partnership between Mongolia-India and strong bilateral relations.
Ambassador highlighted the role of ICCR in promotion of our historical ties with Mongolia through culture as well as through its various scholarship schemes, cultural exchanges, exhibitions and shared that about 4000 Mongolians have benefitted so far under various training schemes of GOI including ICCR. First Secretary, Shri Meena made a PPT on the mandate and functioning of ICCR and its role in strengthening India-Mongolia relations through various projects.
4 ICCR alumni also shared their experiences and praised the world class Indian edunational standards & high quality living in cities and strongly put forward as to how the training in India has benefitted them immensely. During the event, two dance performances were given by the Winner and the Runners-up of the recently concluded 'Melody of Ganga River' National Indian Dance competition.
