9th India-Mongolia Joint Working Group meeting on Defence Cooperation
The 9th India-Mongolia Joint Working Group meeting of Defence Cooperation headed by Vice Minister of Defence, HE Mr T Dulamdorg and State Secretary from India, Mr Bharat Khera had an extensive meeting in Ulaanbaatar city on May 6-7, 2019. The two sides reviewed the progress of ongoing projects of collaboration and also discussed several future areas and projects of mutual cooperation in the defence sector.
Indian side agreed to expedite setting up of a Training Centre in Mongolian Ministry of Defence by March 2020, organize annual bilateral Nomadic Elephant military exercise in India later this year and assist in capacity building of the Mongolian Military officers through dedicated number of training slots.
In a solemn ceremony, Indian side also handed over 50 parachutes for use by the Mongolian Armed Forces.
