Mr. R. Masakui, Ambassador of India met with Mr. E.D. Mnangagwa, Acting President of Zimbabwe

Ambassador R.Masakui met with Acting President ED Mnangagwa on 4th January 2017. It was a follow up to his earlier meeting and discussion held few months ago. The discussion centred on the interest of Indian companies wanting to invest in Zimbabwe’s agricultural and medical sectors. Several potential investors in India such as Varun Beverages, BVG, etc. are interested in investing in agri sector, food park, food processing, etc.  In view of the sensitivity of land issue, Ambassador has sought security of tenure and legal protection for our potential investors so that their investments remain secure.

In health sector, several groups including Narayana Health, Manipal Group, Medanta Group, etc. are interested in setting up hospital, collaborating in medical and technical education etc.  Ambassador has sought the Acting President’s assistance in facilitating such investments which will help in capacity building of the Zimbabwean education and health sector on a long term basis.

Acting President Mnangagwa had assured that Zimbabwe was open to investors in various sectors of the economy.
