Visa Services

General Guidelines for Visa Services:

• Applications are required to be filled online using Internet Explorer or Google Chrome at https://indianvisaonline.gov.in. 
• The applicant should select the Indian Mission: Damascus-Syria before filling the online visa application.
• The print-out of online visa application would carry a barcode starting with SYRD. Please fill in all the required details correctly.
• Applications without complete details are liable to be rejected.
• Applicants are also required to upload recent colour photographs (“2 x 2” with light background).
• After applying online, applicant is required to submit duly singed print-out of the online filled application form along with the required documents at the Consular Section of Embassy on any working day between 0900 hrs to 1130 hrs.
• Visas are normally issued on the same day between 1530 hrs to 1630 hrs except Student, Employment and Business Visa applications, which may require extra working days.
• Visa will be effective from the date of issue.
• Polio Vaccination Certificate is mandatory to be submitted with all kinds visa applications. 
• There is no need for taking prior appointment for submission of applications.
• Applicants are advised to keep original documents for verification during the submission of visa application, which will be returned after verification.
• The applicant has to apply in person as the capturing biometric features are mandatory for processing the application.
•  Relevant documents required to be submitted are given under each visa category.

Types of Visa:

Tourist Visa

Those who wish to visit India for sightseeing, casual visit to meet friends or relatives, attending a short-term yoga course etc. Tourist visas are non-extendable and non-convertible.

Documents Required:

• Duly signed printed copy of the online visa application form along with a recent photograph (“2 x 2” with white background).
• Original passport with at least two blank pages and minimum 6 months validity.
• Copy of passport.
• Residence proof -Copy of Iqama (Residence), which must be sworn translated and attested by MOFA, or copy of the identity certificate(click here for form ).
• Proof of assured financial standing (the production of    a return ticket/ onward journey ticket and availability of sufficient money (latest bank statement) to spend during stay in India.
• Polio Vaccination Certificate (click here for form ).

Business Visa:

Documents Required

• Duly signed printed copy of the online visa application form along with a recent photograph (“2 x 2” with white background).
• Original passport with at least two blank pages and minimum 6 months validity at the time of making application for grant of visa and re-entry permit, if that is required under the law of the country of nationality of applicant.
• Copy of passport.
• Copy of Iqama (Residence), which must be sworn translated and attested by MOFA, or copy of the identity certificate (click here for form ).
• Certificate of merchant sworn translated and attested by Chamber of Commerce.
• Certificate of membership in the Chamber of Commerce sworn translated and attested by Chamber of Commerce.
• Deputation letter from the local company.
• Invitation Letter from the Indian Company.
• Registration of Indian Company.
• Copy of passport of the company owner/manager who signed the invitation letter.
• Latest bank statement for 6 months duration.
• Polio Vaccination Certificate (click here for form ).

Student Visa:

Documents Required:

• Duly signed printed copy of the online visa application form along with a recent photograph (“2 x 2” with white background).
• Original passport with at least two blank pages and minimum 6 months validity at the time of making application for grant of visa and re-entry permit, if that is required under the law of the country of nationality of applicant.
• Copy of passport.
• Copy of Iqama (Residence), which must be sworn translated and attested by MOFA, or copy of the identity certificate (click here for form ).
• Higher Education Certificate sworn translated and attested from Syrian MOFA.
• Admission letter from Indian University.
• Email addressed to Embassy of India, Damascus seeking visa for the applicant.
• Proof of assured financial standing
• Polio Vaccination Certificate (click here for form ).

Medical Visa:

Documents Required:

• Duly signed printed copy of the online visa application form along with a recent photograph (“2 x 2” with white background).
• Original passport with at least two blank pages and minimum 6 months validity at the time of making application for grant of visa and re-entry permit, if that is required under the law of the country of nationality of applicant.
• Copy of passport.
• Copy of Iqama (Residence), which must be sworn translated and attested by MOFA, or copy of the identity certificate (click here for form ).
• A copy of the family book sworn translated in case of a family member applying for dependent visa.
• Invitation letter from an Indian hospital.
• Medical report for the patient sworn translated and attested from Hospital.
• Bank statement that covers travel and treatment expenses.
• Polio Vaccination Certificate (click here for form ).

Ayush (AY) Visa

Those who wish to visit India  for treatment under Ayush Systems/Indian system of medicine, can apply for Ayush(AY) Visa.

Documents Required:

• Duly signed printed copy of the online visa application form along with a recent photograph (“2 x 2” with white background).
• Original passport with at least two blank pages and minimum 6 months validity at the time of making application for grant of visa and re-entry permit, if that is required under the law of the country of nationality of applicant.
• Copy of passport.
• Copy of Iqama (Residence), which must be sworn translated and attested by MOFA, or copy of the identity certificate (click here for form ).
• A copy of the family book sworn translated in case of a family member applying for dependent visa.
• Medical documents (supporting letter from an accredited Ayush Institution registered with Government authority(ies) concerned or NABH/NCH/NCISM accredited hospitals providing Ayush services..
• Medical report for the patient sworn translated and attested from Hospital.
• Bank statement that covers travel and treatment expenses.
• Polio Vaccination Certificate (click here for form ).

Transit Visa:

Documents Required:

• Duly signed printed copy of the online visa application form along with a recent photograph (“2 x 2” with white background).
• Original passport with at least two blank pages and minimum 6 months validity at the time of making application for grant of visa and re-entry permit, if that is required under the law of the country of nationality of applicant.
• Copy of passport.
• Copy of seaman’s passport.
• Copy of Iqama (Residence), which must be sworn translated and attested by MOFA, or copy of the identity certificate (click here for form ).
• Deputation letter from the Syrian Company.
• Registration Certificate of the Syrian Company.
• Invitation Letter from the Indian Company.
• Registration Certificate of the Indian Company.
• Copy of the passport of the company owner who signed the invitation letter.

Conference Visa:

Documents Required:

• Duly signed printed copy of the online visa application form along with a recent photograph (“2 x 2” with white background).
• Original passport with at least two blank pages and minimum 6 months validity at the time of making application for grant of visa and re-entry permit, if that is required under the law of the country of nationality of applicant.
• Copy of passport.
• Copy of Iqama (Residence), which must be sworn translated and attested by MOFA, or copy of the identity certificate (click here for form ).
• Invitation Letter.
• NOCfrom Indian MEA.
• Polio Vaccination Certificate. (click here for form ).

Employment Visa:

Documents Required:

• Duly signed printed copy of the online visa application form along with a recent photograph (“2 x 2” with white background).
• Original passport with at least two blank pages and minimum 6 months validity at the time of making application for grant of visa and re-entry permit, if that is required under the law of the country of nationality of applicant.
• Copy of passport.
• Copy of Iqama (Residence), which must be sworn translated and attested by MOFA, or copy of the identity certificate (click here for form ).
• Employment contract signed by both parties and notarized. Foreign nationals being sponsored for an employment visa in any sector should draw a gross salary in excess of Rs. 16.25 lakhs per annum except for a few categories.

Diplomatic Visa:

Documents Required:

• Duly signed printed copy of the online visa application form along with a recent photograph (“2 x 2” with white background).
• Original passport with at least two blank pages and minimum 6 months validity at the time of making application for grant of visa and re-entry permit, if that is required under the law of the country of nationality of applicant.
• Copy of passport.
• Note verbal for issuance of visa from Syrian MOFA.

Journalist Visa:

Documents Required:

• Duly signed printed copy of the online visa application form along with a recent photograph (“2 x 2” with white background).
• Original passport with at least two blank pages and minimum 6 months validity at the time of making application for grant of visa and re-entry permit, if that is required under the law of the country of nationality of applicant.
• Copy of passport.
• Copy of Iqama (Residence), which must be sworn translated and attested by MOFA, or copy of the identity certificate (click here for form ).
• Invitation letter.

Dependent Visa: -

Documents Required:

• Duly signed printed copy of the online visa application form along with a recent photograph (“2 x 2” with white background).
• Original passport with at least two blank pages and minimum 6 months validity at the time of making application for grant of visa and re-entry permit, if that is required under the law of the country of nationality of applicant.
• Copy of passport.
• Copy of Iqama (Residence), which must be sworn translated and attested by MOFA, or copy of the identity certificate (click here for form ).
• Copy of email sent by the person on whom the applicant is dependent to the Embassy to guarantee the stay and visit expenses of the applicant.
• NOC from the university of the student in India is required in case spouse or parents intend visit or stay with him.

Entry Visa:

(For the person of Indian origin and foreign spouse or foreign children of an Indian citizen/Person of Indian origin or OCI card holder).

Documents Required:

• Duly signed printed copy of the online visa application form along with a recent photograph (“2 x 2” with white background).
• Original passport with at least two blank pages and minimum 6 months validity.
• Copy of passport.
• Copy of Iqama (Residence), which must be sworn translated and attested by MOFA, or copy of the identity certificate (click here for form ).
• Documents in support of their Indian origin
