Visit of Hon'ble Minister of State for External Affairs, Shri M.J. Akbar (24-28 March 2018)
Hon’ble Minister of State for External Affairs, Shri M.J. Akbar visited Tashkent on 24-28 March 2018 to attend the Conference on “Afghanistan: Peace Process, Security Cooperation and Regional Connectivity.” On the sidelines of the Conference, he interacted with the Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan, Mr. Erlan Abdyldayev and EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Ms. Federica Mogherini. He had bilateral meetings with Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan, Mr. Abdulaziz Kamilov and Defence Minister, Major General Abdusalom Azizov. He also met H.E. Madame Tatyana Karimova, Head of Islam Karimov Foundation and spouse of the First President of Uzbekistan at the Islam Karimov Museum.
During his stay in Tashkent, Hon’ble Minister offered floral tributes at the Lal Bahadur Shastri Memorial in Tashkent. He interacted with the local Indian community and launched the Hindi Baatcheet Club at the Lal Bahadur Shastri Centre for Indian Culture. He also visited the Mirza Ghalib Mohalla in Tashkent.
