A condolence book for late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, former Prime Minister was opened in the Embassy on 20-21 August 2018. The Foreign Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan H.E. Abdulaziz Khafizovich Kamilov, Ambassadors accredited to the Republic of Uzbekistan and members of Diplomatic Corps visited the Embassy to sign the Condolence Book and pay homage to the departed leader.
The Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan inscribed:
"With deep sadness we have learnt about demise of former Prime Minister HE Mr. Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
We respect His Excellency as a great son of his nation who as political leader devoted his life for the Republic of India and for the prosperity and welfare of the people. We believe that his shining memory will stay with us forever as a statesman who greatly contributed to the development of comprehensive and mutually beneficial relations of our two fraternal countries.
At this sad moment, offering our sincere condolences to the family of the late Prime Minister, to people of India, to Ambassador and the Embassy staff; we pray to God for granting spiritual strength to all."
In his message, the Ambassador of the State of Israel stated that the Hon’ble Late Prime Minister hosted the first ever visit of Israeli PM to India.
The Ambassador of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh recalled his association with the State visit of the late Prime Minister to Bangladesh.
A condolence meeting was held at the Embassy of India, Tashkent on 17.08.2018, to pay respects to the late Prime Minister. The Embassy staff members and visiting delegation members of the Inter-Governmental Commission (IGC) and Joint Working Groups (JWGs) paid their tributes to the departed soul.
A “Shok Sabha” was held in the Embassy premises on 22.08.2018 for the Indian community to pay tributes to the late Prime Minister. A large gathering of the community recalled the indelible memories of the charismatic great leader, a great orator, poet and his connect with populace, and paid their rich tributes.
