Ambassador A. GITESH SARMA
Mr. A. Gitesh Sarma was born on 25th March 1961. Mr. Sarma completed his B.A (Hons) and M.A. in Political Science from Delhi University.
He joined the India Audits & Accounts Department, Government of India in 1984.
He joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1986.
Mr. Sarma’s overseas assignments include Indian Missions in Moscow, Minsk, Odessa (Ukraine), Hong Kong, Islamabad and London.
He has worked in Ministry of External Affaris as Under Secretary (Europe East) and Director (Central Asia ).
In addition, he served as the Officer on Special Duty ( IT Enabled Services) in the Information Technology Department of the state of Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad, India.
His most recent assignment was as Joint Secretary (External Relations) in the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India.

He is married to Mrs. Ratnamala Sarma and has a daughter
